About Us
Taurus Herd Health was established in 2022 by Matthew Hylands as a farm animal only practice with a particular focus on fertility.
Before returning home to Northern Ireland in 2019, Matthew worked for a number of years within a well renowned farm animal practice in the intensive dairy area of North West England. He also has experience of the extensive grassland systems of New Zealand and has seen first-hand how fertility impacts herds right across the spectrum. Following time working amongst the herds of Northern Ireland, Matthew realised the need for a vet-led, targeted approach to fertility.
At Taurus Herd Health we hope to fulfil this vision by providing a range of fertility focused services, from a comprehensive veterinary service, for those who want maximum input from experienced vets, through to a one-off visit to perform more advanced techniques such as embryo transfer.
We believe that health, fertility, productivity and profitability are intrinsically linked and as vets we are best placed to provide professional advice, opinion and services to ensure every type of herd reaches their potential.
